The LCCOA will be starting a Jewlery making class beginning on September 22, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Carolyn Hobbs and associate will be teaching the class. The cost of the class is FREE, but you will have to purchase your tools and needed supplies. We look forward to adding Carolyn to our staff of volunteers. Spanish ClassOur Spanish Classes started back September 8, 2008 at 3 pm. Our Arendell Parrott Academy students will teach again this year. The classes will be held on Monday and Friday beginning at 3:00pm and lasting until 4:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you here and remember this is a FREE class!! A Very Special Thank YouHarrison Smith for all of the wonderful volunteer work that he has done for the Senoir Center. Mr Smith has donated his time to repair and upgrade our back steps leading into the Congregate Nutrition Room. He also has taken it upon himself to repair and paint the benches located in the back yard as well refinish our picnic tables!! There aren't words to express how very grateful that we are to Harrison. He has donated his time and love for our seniors and he will never know how much we appreciate him. Thanks Harrison!!!!!!! Lady Lenoir WinnerAloise Burian is our new Lady Lenoir!!!! Lady Lenoir was a wonderful event. There was a great variety of talent that included Kinston Dance Academy dancers, Eryn, Rylee and Taryn McKendrick, Amber Fickes, Tori Martin and Meredith Smith. The Renewed Hearts, Teresa Sumner, Suzanne Gallaher, Joey Humbert, Tammy Dawson, Jacob Mewborn, Eric Maritnez, Lady Lenoir 2007-2008 Evelyn Dixon and our Master's of Ceremony, Martha Bishop and Rick Vernon. Sandra Midyette, RN CGRNSandra Midyette, Rn CGRN, Diabetes Program Coordinator with Lenoir Memorial Hospital will be having several classes at our locations for all senoirs in Lenoir County. Sandra will be giving valuable hints on Self-Management for persons with Diabetes. Please join Sandra and the LCCOA learning valuable skills that will help you to better manage your diabetes.
